Learning from History_

The remaining holes in the “History” section have been filled, so the site is officially constructed. I will of course be adding new photos, journal entries and links as things develop, but what’s here should give everyone an idea of Scorp’s state of being.

There is one section planed that is not represented. There’s even an empty button for it on the front page. It’s the “Future” section. There is not yet content for it because the future of this car has not yet congealed in the jello of my mind. I have a few ideas here and there, but  I’m really just getting to know the car in it’s “before” state.

One thing I did discover while wrapping the history section was how closely my attachment to this car is connected to my long-passed step-father Brad. It’s something I had though about briefly when I first found the Lancia, but putting it down in writing really helped me explore and embrace the idea. It’s can be rewarding to dig to the back of the emotional closet and find something you’ve hidden away. I do miss him.

Well, hopefully this will be a big weekend for the Scorpion. My friend Anthony is going to help me work through the brakes (replacing pads, discs, etc). He also had a second top from his Scorp that he’s offered to donate to the cause. That’s a great thing, because having an open roof car in Seattle is not always a wonderful idea. Not to mention finding parts like this for a 30 year old car that saw limited production...not cheap or easy. I’ll take photos of whatever action commences and post them soon.
